Water bottles needed!

This week in art your child  made a nameplate for Mrs. Sircy so I can try and remember everyone's name.  They also wrote on and decorated their Art Portfolio Folder to keep here in class.  They will keep their best paper art piece here at school and display it in the art show at the end of the year.

Also, I am in need of water bottles.  Every 4th grader needs to bring in an empty water bottle that is at least 16oz.  We are going to learn about TIKIs!! And create one out of clay!!

New School Year 2014

What a great start to a new year!

This week in art we learned about the new "Related Arts Scoreboard".  When the students come to class they have the ability to earn points for good behavior.  #5 being the highest and #1 the lowest.  At the end of class the points they earned are posted on the scoreboard located in the Arts pod on a chart.  All students can see and keep track of their scores for the week by adding them up.  The class with the highest score at the end of the week wins bragging rights, a BIG trophy and gets to choose their seat in related arts for the next week.  The class with the most points at the end of the 9 weeks gets to have a popcorn/popsicle party.  Picture to come next week of the board.... it will make more sense with actual scores on them.

In art class we talked about Monster Manners and living above the line or below the line.   We all want to be ABOVE!

Students then drew a monster showing all of the ways they can show that they are listening.
